We Be Jammin'... Apple Cranberry Jam



Apple Cranberry Jam

Makes 7 half pints

Ingredients 

8 small to medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped 

16 oz of cranberries 

4 cups brown sugar 

3/4 cup orange juice 

1/2 cup water 

2 Tbsp lemon juice 

2 Tbsp finely shredded orange peel 

1/8 tsp ground cinnamon 

1/8 tsp ground allspice 

Add all ingredients to a large pot, stir to combine. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and simmer, stir often, for about 30 mins or until mixture is thickened. Ladle into jar leaving ½-inch headspace, wipe rims, and assemble lids. Process in a water bath canner for 15 mins.

  1. I'm the oldest of 10. Growing up, cranberry sauce was always served with poultry, apple sauce with pork. I can my own now and continue the tradition with my kids, grand-kids and great grand-kids. Love the combination of the two in this recipe. Going to try this recipe in the fall when apples and cranberries are plentiful here in the Northeast. Thanks CG.
